About this event
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, there is a focus on the role of exercise in breast cancer prevention.
Movement is medicine, and the evidence is clear. Research shows that being regularly active can reduce your risk of breast cancer by around 15%.
To reduce your risk, the World Health Organisation recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate, or 75 minutes of vigorous, physical activity weekly. It also recommends doing muscle-strengthening exercises at least twice a week. You don't need to run a marathon, small steps count.
