Maternal mental health co-production workshop for Black African, including Somali, and Black Caribbean women

We would like to invite you to take part in a maternal mental health co-production workshop for Black African, including Somali, and Black Caribbean women in Hammersmith & Fulham.

Over the past year, women have shared their experiences of pregnancy, birth and maternal mental health. Their stories have helped identify important issues, including difficulties accessing support, feeling unheard, stigma around mental health, and the importance of trusted relationships and continuity of care. The next stage is to work together to identify practical changes that could make a real difference for women and families.

Why take part?

This workshop is an opportunity to:

  • Share your views in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Tell us what good maternal mental health support looks like to you.
  • Help shape recommendations for local health and care services.
  • Ensure that the voices of Black African, Somali and Black Caribbean women are heard and reflected in future improvements.

The workshop will focus on solutions and improvements rather than asking women to repeat their experiences. We want to understand what meaningful change would look like from your perspective and what practical actions would make the greatest difference.
