Who is Healthwatch Hammersmith and Fulham?

Healthwatch Hammersmith and Fulham is the independent voice for patients and health service users in the borough. From Old Oak to Sands End and everywhere in between, we gather your views of health and social care services to ensure they are heard by the people in charge. We have the power to make sure NHS leaders and other decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care, to make sure health and social care services in H&F are the best they can be for people, now and in the future.

What is this questionnaire about?

We know from Healthwatch England’s recent surveys that people are avoiding vital care due to rising living costs. They found that more people are avoiding hospital and GP appointments due to transport costs and one in ten people are cutting back on over-the-counter medications they normally rely on to save money. Others are also struggling to heat their homes and afford healthy food.

(By the rising cost of living, we mean the increases in the prices of things in the past year because of inflation, such as food, electricity and gas bills, rent and other essential living costs.)

We want to take a closer look at how the rising cost of living is impacting people’s access to health and social care services in Hammersmith and Fulham, and the effect this has on your health and wellbeing. We want to help ensure that financial difficulties are not a barrier to healthcare.

Sharing your experiences will help us identify important issues and signpost more people to the correct support and services.

However, upon closing the survey last week, we've noticed that we have not heard from many young people under 25 years old - a very important cohort of voices!

What questions will we ask?

This questionnaire takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and asks about the impact of the rising cost of living in the last 12 months, and how it might affect you in the winter months ahead, including:

  • Impacts on your access to health and social care services and equipment
  • Impacts on your physical and mental health and wellbeing
  • Other changes you’re making to keep costs down

DEADLINE: Sunday 19 November

By completing the questionnaire, you will also be entered into a competition to win a £25 voucher.

If you would prefer to do this questionnaire with us over the phone or for us to send a paper copy to your home, please call Healthwatch H&F and we will arrange a time to ring you back to complete the questionnaire.
